The 60-second answer
Capgemini Exceller is the company's flagship program for engineering graduates. You clear four stages: an online assessment, a coding round, a technical interview, and an HR interview. The twist is that your coding-round performance decides your salary band: clearing zero, one, or both coding questions maps to roughly 4.25, 5.75, or 7.5 LPA. So the coding round is where your effort pays off most. Keep a clean one-page resume with your 60%+ marks and real projects, and go hard on coding.
Most of the filtering here is done by the eligibility bar and the assessments, and the pay is decided by the coding round. Your resume's job is to clear parsing and anchor the interview. This guide covers the 2026 eligibility, the salary tiers, the four rounds, and exactly what your resume needs. Numbers shift each cycle, so confirm them on the official Capgemini careers page.
Exceller 2026 eligibility at a glance
Degree: B.E / B.Tech in any branch, or M.Sc in Computer Science / IT. (BCA and similar are generally not eligible.)
Batch: 2026 graduating batch.
Marks: a minimum of 60% throughout X, XII, and graduation.
Backlogs: no backlogs at the time of the selection process.
Other: no participation in a Capgemini interview in the last 6 months.
The coding-gated salary tiers
This is what makes Capgemini different: your coding score sets your band.
| Band | Reported package | Coding result |
|---|---|---|
| Senior Analyst (A5) | ~7.5 LPA | Both coding questions cleared |
| Analyst Star (A4 P) | ~5.75 LPA | One coding question cleared |
| Analyst (A4) | ~4.25 LPA | Base band, no coding cleared |
Packages are point-in-time and vary by cycle. Treat them as directional, not a guarantee.
The 4-round hiring process
Round 1: Online Assessment
Four sections: technical MCQs and pseudocode (around 40 questions), an English/communication test, a game-based cognitive test, and a behavioural/PowerSkills section. Often on the CoCubes platform.
Round 2: Coding Round
About 2 coding problems in 45 minutes. This round sets your salary band, so it is where your preparation should be concentrated.
Round 3: Technical Interview
Your projects, one programming language, core CS fundamentals (OOPs, DBMS/SQL), and problem-solving. Be ready to explain every choice on your resume.
Round 4: HR Interview
Introduction, strengths, relocation and shift flexibility, and the service-agreement discussion.
Do not treat the coding round as just another section. It is worth roughly 3 LPA of package spread, so put the majority of your prep there.
What a Capgemini resume needs
Uploaded at application and read again in the interview, so it must parse cleanly and hold up to questions. One page, single column, PDF, standard headings. Include:
- A short objective naming the role and your core stack.
- Education with your 60%+ marks (and X/XII percentages) visible.
- 2 to 3 projects, each with the tech stack and one measurable outcome.
- A skills line matching what you prepared for the coding round.
- Coding-profile links (LeetCode, HackerRank, GitHub) and any certification.
Build it fast with our and 20 ATS-tested templates. See the fresher resume guide for the format rules.
A sample project bullet that holds up
Weak
Made an e-commerce website.
Stronger
Built a Spring Boot + MySQL e-commerce backend with JWT auth and 12 REST endpoints; added indexed product search that cut query time from ~800 ms to ~120 ms on a 10k-row catalogue in testing.
The stronger version names the stack, shows a technique, and gives numbers the interviewer can probe. See how to quantify achievements.
5 mistakes to avoid
- Under-preparing coding. It literally sets your salary band. One extra solved problem can mean a higher offer.
- Hiding your marks. Capgemini filters on 60% across X/XII/UG. Show them clearly.
- A two-page, two-column resume. One page, single column, so it parses.
- Projects with no numbers. Add scope and an outcome the interviewer can dig into.
- Ignoring the behavioural section. PowerSkills and communication still gate you, so do not skip them.
Frequently asked questions
What is the eligibility for Capgemini Exceller 2026?+
B.E / B.Tech in any engineering branch (and M.Sc in Computer Science or IT), from the 2026 batch, with a minimum of 60% throughout X, XII, and graduation, and no backlogs at the time of the selection process. BCA and similar non-B.E/B.Tech/M.Sc streams are generally not eligible. Confirm the exact criteria on the official Capgemini careers page for your drive.
How is the Capgemini Exceller salary decided?+
By the coding round, directly. Widely-reported tiers for the 2026 cycle: Analyst (A4) at about 4.25 LPA if you do not clear a coding question, Analyst Star (A4 P) at about 5.75 LPA for clearing one coding question, and Senior Analyst (A5) at about 7.5 LPA for clearing both. So two working solutions in the coding round can nearly double your package.
How many rounds are in the Capgemini Exceller process?+
Commonly four: an Online Assessment (technical MCQs and pseudocode, an English/communication test, a game-based cognitive test, and a behavioural/PowerSkills section), a Coding round (about 2 questions in 45 minutes), a Technical interview, and an HR interview. The assessment often runs on the CoCubes platform.
Does the coding round decide my Capgemini package?+
Yes. Clearing zero, one, or both coding questions maps directly to the base, Analyst Star, and Senior Analyst tiers. This is the single highest-leverage part of the process, so prioritise it over the aptitude sections in your prep.
What should a fresher put on a Capgemini resume?+
A short objective, your degree with the 60%+ marks visible, 2 to 3 projects each with a stack and a measurable outcome, links to your coding profiles, and a skills line matching what you prepared. Keep it to one page, single column, PDF, with standard headings so it parses cleanly.
Does Capgemini charge any fee for hiring?+
No. Genuine Capgemini hiring never asks candidates for payment at any stage. Any such request is a scam. Only trust communication from official Capgemini email domains.
